The Nickel Institute
Founded in 1984 for the purpose of market development of nickel and its alloys and became The Nickel Institute in 2004 when it merged with NiPERA (Nickel Producers’ Environmental Association). Representing more than 85% of the world’s nickel producers, we promote the production and recycling of nickel in an environmentally responsible manner by promoting sustainable production and usage and developing sound science. We also offer free technical advice about nickel, its properties and uses through a worldwide network of highly qualified specialists.

The Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA)
The world’s leading industry body for minor metals. MMTA has over 100 members in 25 countries who represent producers, traders, consumers and service industries associated with minor metals. Since it was set up in 1973 the MMTA has worked to improve the efficiency of the international minor metals market and develop new business opportunities for its members. Services provided by MMTA include standardised minor metal contracts, approved warehousing facilities, arbitration processes, and a wide range of market information and assistance. The National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF)
It is a 501 (c)(6) trade association whose mission is to promote the advancement of the North American surface finishing industry globally. NASF was created as a means to better serve the needs of the surface finishing industry by “reorganizing” and bringing together the members of the American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society (AESF), the Metal Finishing Suppliers Association (MFSA) and the National Association of Metal Finishers (NAMF). As a more efficient and unified operation, the reorganization will provide all members, including platers, suppliers, managers, owners, technicians, researchers, academics and students with a stronger industry voice; an optimized volunteer pool; a reinvigorated committee structure; and enhanced member benefits.

SAMFA is an association that offers support to South African Businesses engaged in electroplating, e-coating, anodising or powder coating and any related activities. Our focus is on reducing the negative environmental impact of industry activities and raising the quality of product produced by the industry. To this end we are in engaged in Resource Conservation initiatives and technical training programmes targeted at the metal finishing industry. We produce two publications, S A Metal Finisher, our industry journal that appears several times a year and the Metal Finishing Handbook and Buyers Guide that first appeared in 2008 and is revised every couple of years. The 2011 version will be released soon.

The Institute of Circuit Technology was formed in 1974 to provide a forum to discuss the technology of printed circuit and related technology and quickly grew to become the premier Institute for printed circuit professionals. We provide a professional status to those engaged in all aspects of design, manufacture and supply chain of the Printed Circuit Industry by using the following grading structure: - Student Member, Associate Member A.Inst.C.T, Member M.Inst.C.T, Fellow F.Inst.C.T.
The strength of the ICT is in the individual members and to improve the standard of industry knowledge, we hold seminars, meetings and training courses to develop and provide opportunities to improve our knowledge of materials, processes and practices.
We are also improving our website to provide an easy access forum for discussion of all issues affecting members. Members are also kept in communication through emails, mailshots and our quarterly on-line Journal and are also able to have input into our Annual Scholarships.
